Paul Friesen's BIO

Paul Friesen,
Chief Operations Officer University Place

Paul Friesen is the Administrator and Chief Operations Officer of University Place Retirement Community and Nursing Center.  He is a native of Minnesota and is the 6th of 9 children.  Paul graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire with a B.S. in Health Care Administration and has spent his entire 18+ year career working with the seniors as a licensed administrator in both Minnesota and Texas.  He has both depth and breadth to his experiences, which includes management of communities that provide services to residents who utilize Independent and Assisted living, Personal Assistance Services (PAS), Nursing Home and Hospice Care.

Prior to accepting his responsibilities at University Place, Mr. Friesen served as the administrator of Golden Acres in Dallas, Texas. Golden Acres is a community that was founded in the 1960’s by one of Senior Services industry leaders, Herbert Shore, whose pioneering efforts in this arena understood that best practices were absolutely necessary for quality living.  Paul shares Shore’s passion for providing exceptional experiences for today’s maturing adult.  He believes that resident-driven choice, and individualized and specialized services are keys to successful aging.

Affiliations include active membership with AAHSA (American Assn. of Homes & Services for the Aging), TAHSA (Texas Assn. of Homes & Services for the Aging), AHCA (American Health Care Assn.) and ACHA (American College of Healthcare Administrators).
